What is the Jamboard tool?
Jamboard is a collaborative digital whiteboard application that allows users to sketch out ideas and save them in the cloud so that they can be accessed on any device. The Jamboard tool works within any web browser and includes the following features:
- Selection of backgrounds
- Pen tool for drawing using a highlighter, marker, or brush stroke
- Eraser
- Selector tool
- Sticky notes
- Image upload
- Circle tool for adding circles and other shapes
- Text boxes
- Laser for pointing to elements on your board
How can I access the Jamboard tool?
The Jamboard tool can be accessed through G Suite just like Slides, Docs, Sheets, etc. To create a new Jamboard,
- Log into your Google Drive or go to https://jamboard.google.com/
- From Google Drive, locate the top right waffle menu icon and select Jamboard
- On the main page, click the button to create a new board
- When the new board opens, you will be able to use the features listed above to add images, shapes, text, sticky notes, and more
How can I share a Jamboard with Collaborators?
Your Jamboard saves to your Google Drive and can also be downloaded as a PDF. After creating a Jamboard, you can share it via the built-in Google sharing system.
- Click Share
- Under "Share with people and groups," enter the email address you want to share with
- To change what people can do to your Jamboard, on the right, click the Down arrow to switch from Viewer or Editor
- Choose to notify people.
- If you want to notify people that you shared a Jamboard with them, check the box next to Notify people. If you notify people, each email address you enter will be included in the email
- If you don't want to notify people, uncheck the box
- Click Share or Send
Alternatively, you can share your Jamboard using a shared link
- Click Share
- Under "Get link," click "Change link to Saint Joseph's University" to enable anyone at SJU to have access to your Jamboard.
- To change what people can do to your Jamboard, on the right, click the Down arrow to switch from Viewer or Editor.
- Click Copy link
- Click Done
