Getting Assistance with Claims and Healthcare Questions


Health Advocate is a FREE resource for all employees to assist in resolving claims issues and handling other healthcare questions or concerns, such as finding a new doctor or specialist. You do not need to be enrolled in SJU medical plans to take advantage of this service.



Independence Blue Cross Champion Customer Service Line

The Office of Human Resources has partnered with Independence Blue Cross to give our employees a new and improved enhanced customer service plan. The Champion program is designed to meet our employees needs regarding understanding and answering questions about their health care plans. A dedicated customer service team of experts are knowledgeable about OUR benefits and can provide you with the individualized customer service. Health Advocate

Health Advocate is a free service for all SJU employees that can assist with a number of claims issues and other questions/concerns regarding health care. You do not need to be enrolled in an SJU medical insurance plan to take advantage of this service!

In addition to assisting with billing and claim issues, Health Advocate can also help with:

  • Find the right doctors and hospitals; schedule tests, appointments; secure second opinions & get cost estimates
  • Explain health conditions; research the latest treatments
  • Explain benefits coverage
  • Assist with care coordination, including elder care
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
