Overview & Settings

Overview Bridge Reference

Settings:

  • If a course will be part of a program, make sure it is NOT required (a program due date will trump a course due date, but unfinished learners can only be recorded when listed as optional)
    • If your course is standalone, feel free to change the "due date" as you see fit for the purpose of that course
  • Never set a course expiration
  • Do not limit attempts
  • Handling completed unknowns should = 100%
  • Check duration and update as needed

Creating a Course

  1. Go to "Courses" in Bridge under the Author tab
  2. For SCORM courses or slide decks (such as PowerPoint), click "Upload a course"
    • Nothing else needs to be done; but make sure to double-check all settings! SCORM courses do NOT return quiz scores/results so "handling completed unknowns" is a critical setting.
    • Note: it is not recommended to upload a PowerPoint; it will essentially just take a screenshot of each slide. For best results, create the course directly in Bridge and upload any images/charts or media directly.
  3. Otherwise, click "Create a Course"
    • For created courses, remember to:
      • Create a cover slide & add an image - the image will populate to the course library and make sorting through courses easier
      • Add in question slides
  4. For all courses:
    • Update the course title
    • Update the course description on the main page AND on the cover slide; indicate what score the learner needs to pass
  5. When you've finished building your course, click "Publish" and reach out to Rachel at rcallaha@sju.edu to have it added to the Learner Library or appropriate program.

Removing Learners from a Course

  • Individual learners can only be "Marked Complete" or have the due date adjusted
  • Only required learners can be removed via CSV
  • Optional learners can dis-enroll themselves but cannot be removed administratively
    • If you archive the course, this should dis-enroll them and will remove it from their active

To remove learners from a program:

  1. Deactivate any smart groups or remove the smart group from the program
  2. Export enrollments & remove completed learners
  3. Upload the unfinished learners to "Remove via CSV"
  4. Now the learners have been removed from the program
  5. If any courses from the program are still required, you must upload them to those courses and mark them required
  6. For any courses that should be removed/not required, you can simply archive that course
    • This allows reporting to indicate that the person didn't complete the course without interfering with any integrations to the Nest or continuing to alert the learner to incomplete items that they can't access
