Is my merit award subject to negotiation?

Body

Merit scholarships are non-negotiable.  Students must be full-time, undergraduate students in order to receive any merit aid awarded to them. Merit scholarships are typically applied during the fall and spring semesters only.  Students can receive up to a maximum of 8 semesters of Saint Joseph's University merit aid.

After completing the FAFSA and receiving the full financial aid package, if the income listed for a student (or his/her family) on the FAFSA was higher than what the actual income will be for the year the student will be in school, he/she can submit a Special Circumstances Form.  This will allow the Financial Aid Office to use professional judgement to recalculate the numbers on the FAFSA and ascertain if the student is eligible for additional financial aid.
