I'm getting an error when I try to access a recent report

Overview

Occasionally you may encounter this error message when trying to run a report from your recent reports list:

No access: You don't have access to this asset. It might have been disabled, deleted or your permissions might have been reduced. Verify the state of the asset at its expected source location. You can remove the asset from your recent items by tapping OK.

When reports are updated, a newer version is copied over the old version. This breaks the connection in the recent reports list.

Steps

You will need to either navigate to the report through the menu (see How do I use the Cognos navigation menu? for more) or search for the report (see How do I search in Cognos? for more).

After you run the newer version of the report, it will once again be available in your recent reports list.
