Welcome to 2019! With this new year comes new features in Canvas and some best practices when using Canvas.

An instructor can arrange to have papers submitted to the Canvas Assignments tool checked, by Turnitin, for potential unoriginal content by comparing submitted papers to several databases using a proprietary algorithm.  

Turnitin scans the Internet, its own databases, and also has licensing agreements with large academic proprietary databases. Instructors receive (in the Canvas Assignments tool) an “Originality Report” from Turnitin for each student submission.

Pearson MyLab & Mastering is an interactive educational system designed to accompany textbooks published by Pearson Education. When this tool is added to a Canvas course, instructors and their students can use Pearson's interactive instructional materials, including homework, quizzes, and multimedia tutorials.
