Receive approval from your supervisor to use VPN on your mobile device. Work should be done from an SJU-issued computer instead, if possible.
Download the app "Forticlient VPN" from the Play Store or App Store. Only the Forticlient VPN app, published by Fortinet, is to be used.
- Open Forticlient VPN. Choose "Add VPN" and give the connection a name that's useful to you. "SJU VPN" is recommended
- When prompted, choose "SSL VPN" as the VPN type and add it. (or Press "Create")
- In the next menu, edit the "server" or "gateway" (this label may vary). Type, or copy and paste the following into this field: vpn.sju.edu
- Make sure there are no spaces before or after vpn.sju.edu if you copy and paste! Touch OK to save.
- Select "Single Sign-On" and change the value to "Enabled".
- Review the settings and make sure the port is 443, which is the default - you shouldn't need to edit this.
Once settings are complete, to connect to the VPN do the following:
- Press the menu button on the top right and select VPN from the options listed
- The VPN connection that you set up should be listed as shown below (It will have the name you created)
- Select your VPN and press Connect
