Plan Ahead can be a useful tool to prepare for registration, but should be used with caution. It will not check restrictions or prerequisites before adding a course to your plan, so make sure you confirm your eligibility prior to registration opening. It also shows all active courses, not just courses being offered that semester, so make sure you drill down to confirm a section is being offered that semester.
- Log into the Nest and select Students on the top right of the page
- Under the Registration Resources section, click on Self-Service Course Registration
- Click on Plan Ahead

- Select the appropriate Term and click Continue.
- Click Create a New Plan.
- Use the search functionality to find the courses you are interested in and click Search.

- Based on your search criteria, a list of courses will appear. Remember, all active courses will display and it is not limited to courses being offered. Select View Sections next to the course you are interested in to see if it is offered in the term you selected. You can also select Add Course to add the course and all sections to your plan (remember to check sections are being offered before adding it to your plan).

- In this case, you will see that the course, PSY 100, is being offered in the summer. You can click Add to add it to your plan. You will then need to select Save Plan in the bottom right. It will prompt you to Name Your Plan and Save.

- To add additional classes, select Catalog Search Results in the top right section under Plan Ahead. Continue adding classes to your plan and make sure to select Save Plan each time.
- To register from your plan, go to Register for Classes, and select the Plan tab. If you added a section like in the above example, you will click Add next to the course. If you added an active catalog course with multiple sections, you can select View Sections and register from there. If you have multiple sections, you can click Add All in the top right corner to add all courses.
