Registration Errors
When registering for courses, an error window may pop up describing a particular error. This may prevent you from registering for a course. It is essential to identify the error and follow the next steps.
Some common errors include:
- Attribute Restriction - registration for this section is restricted to students with a particular attribute (ex: Honors Program Students)
- Campus Restriction - registration for this section is restricted to students with a particular campus (ex: Online Campus)
- Class Restriction - registration for this section is restricted to students in a particular class (ex: Seniors)
- Cohort Restriction - registration for this section is restricted to students in a particular cohort (ex: incoming Undergraduate Day students)
- College Restriction - registration for this section is restricted to students in a particular college (ex: for students in the College of Arts and Sciences)
- Co requisite Restriction - registration for this section requires you to simultaneously register for a section of a corequisite course (ex: ACC 101 and ACC 101EC)
- Field of Study Restriction - registration for this section is restricted to students in a particular major, minor, or concentration
- Level Restriction - registration for this section is restricted to students in a particular level (ex: an Undergraduate Day student attempting to register for a graduate level course)
- Maximum Hours Exceeded - registration would bring you above the number of credits you are permitted to schedule in a semester. If this is your sixth course in a fall/spring, you need permission to schedule this.
- Mutual Exclusion - this course is mutually exclusive with another course. You have either registered or taken a course with similar content and must make an alternate selection.
- Prerequisite and Test Score - you have not completed, are not currently registered for, or have not achieved the appropriate test or waiver score to register for this class.
- Reserved Closed - the remaining seats in this section are reserved for certain populations of students.
