In the event an error message that your Windows Search engine has been disabled, please follow the steps below to resolve:
Using Task Manager:
- Open Task Manager ( using option A or B )
- Press the CTRL+SHIFT+ESC buttons on your keyboard (This should open Task Manager immediately. Continue to Step 2)
- Right-Click any empty space on the Taskbar

- Select Task Manager from the menu options

- Click the "Services" tab on from the menu on the right. If the menu is collapsed (shows icons only), the click the Puzzle piece also shown in th picture below.

- In the list of Services locate and right-click WSearch, (previously called "Search"), then select "Restart".

Using Control Panel:
- On your keyboard, press the Windows key and R (WIN + R) to open the RUN command.
- Type Control and press ENTER or click OK to open the Control Panel

- Control Panel → System and Security → Windows Tools (Previously known as Administrative Tools) → Services



- Locate Windows Search, in the list (as shown below) and double-click it.
- A prompt will appear, click STOP and allow the process to complete.

- Click Start to run the search service again and press OK. The search should now be running properly.
Important: Never stop any services unless you are aware of what they do or have clear instructions by your IT support team.
