Setting Up Office Hours

Overview

A guide to setting up Starfish office hours.

You can edit existing office hours  from either of your calendar views. Below lists the steps for editing through the Agenda view. 

  1. Log into Starfish at https://sju.edu/starfish or through the homepage of The Nest.
  2. From the Starfish homepage, click on the “Office Hours” button.
  3. Set your preferences for when you will allow students to schedule appointments with you. If you have a meeting scheduled on your Google calendar during set office hours, that time frame will be blocked off as busy and students will not be able to schedule with you. The default end date is “never”, so you need to specify one if you want the office hours to end after a certain period of time (e.g., semester).

NOTE: The ability to schedule appointments is role-based -- only students will be able to schedule appointments with you. If you try to view your office hours as a student would, you will receive an error. Reach out to starfish@sju.edu if you would like for a member of the Starfish Team to confirm your office hours were set up correctly.
