Form I-9
Section 1 of the Form I-9 must be completed in Workday. Section 2 requires you to show proof of identification in person within the three days of your start date. Identification must be current and original - copies, photos and expired identification cannot be accepted. You can find a list of acceptable forms of identification on the US Customs & Immigration Services website here.
You can have your identification reviewed by a member of the Human Resources team on the following days/times:
- Monday to Thursday, 9:30am - 4:30 pm
If you have any questions, please reach out to humanresources@sju.edu.
Out-of-Town or Remote Employees
If you are unable to complete the Form 1-9 in person verification within three days of your start date, please find the remote hire instructions for SJU here.
1) Notary Public Instructions - download and/or print this document for both you and a notary public to complete the form I-9. An important item to note is that the notary will not stamp/seal in their capacity as a notary. Rather, we are relying on their experience of viewing many forms of government IDs to complete section 2.
2) Form I-9 - Your focus is on pages 1 and 2, and can disregard pages 3 and 4. Although you have completed similar information in Workday, the notary will need to see this information in order to complete section 2. Upon your completion and our receipt of this packet, our team will finalize your I-9 in Workday, as it is our official system of record.
