Visiting the View.PAcollege.edu site:
1: On your device, open your web browser (Chrome suggested) and navigate to view.pacollege.edu
Accessing view session - Web: Useful for non-permanent devices and quick access.
1: First, click the VMware Horizon HTML Access.
2: Clicking Accept shows the Credential input screen. Add your PA College email and password, press login. If you are off campus or not on the PA College wireless network, you will be prompted with a Multifactor Authentication through DUO.
3: The next screen will show the desktop pools that you have permissions to access. Most commonly used will be Windows 11 Greenfield or Windows 11 Student. Left click on the pool you wish to use. You may receive a security notification alerting you to non-private communications, clear the error and continue. (click advanced, then ‘proceed to 10.81.xxx.xx)
4: Your desktop will load in the web browser, asking for permission to share resources with your computer. It can pass through microphone, camera, and clipboard (the ability to copy and paste) from your device to the virtual machine. Depending on your direct use-case, first deny access and then allow as the session dictates (security best practice).
Accessing view session - Horizon Client install and configuration: Best for dedicated workstations or personal computers that regularly use the Virtual desktop environment.
1: Open a web browser and navigate to google.com
2: Add ‘Download VMware Horizon Clients’ (without quotes) into the bar and click I’m Feeling Lucky.
3: On the new page, select the correct download for your computer (Windows or Mac) by clicking ‘Go To Downloads’.
4: Download and install the software per your operating system requirements/procedures.
5: Launch VMware Horizon and click Add Server.
6: Place view.pacollege.edu into the connection server box, click connect.
7: Read the dialog that pops up and then click Accept to continue logging in. Add your full PA College email and password to reach the Virtual desktop selection area.
8: Double click the desktop pool you’d like to connect to and a full screen session will load.
Conclusion: Horizon View is installed and configured correctly on the device. User has successfully logged in on the device without error.
