Connect a Device to Eduroam - Employees and Students

Please follow the directions carefully based on your device.

MacOS

To add the eduroam network to your iPhone for the first time: 

  1. On your Mac, click the Wi-Fi icon  in the menu bar.
  2. Choose eduroam from the network list
  3. Enter your SJU username and password. Your username should have the full @sju.edu at the end of it.

 

  1. Click Trust to accept the eduroam certificate

 

  1. You may be asked to use your computers password or touch ID to allow/complete the connection to the network.

You should now be successfully connected to Eduroam.

 

iPhone/ iPad

To add the eduroam network to your iPhone for the first time: 

  1. Click on the "Settings" icon on your home screen
  2. Click on Wi-Fi
  3. Choose eduroam from the network list
  4. Enter your SJU username and password. Your username should have the full @sju.edu at the end of it.
  5. Click Trust to accept the eduroam certificate

Windows

  • Select eduroam and enter your full SJU username with @sju.edu at the end of it and password.
  • Click Connect.

Chromebook

1. At the bottom right, select the time.
2. Select No network.No network
    Note: If you see your Wi-Fi network name and a signal strength, your Chromebook is already connected to Wi-Fi.
3. Turn on Wi-Fi
4. Your Chromebook will automatically look for available networks and show them to you in a list.
5. Select Eduroam and enter your full SJU username with @sju.edu at the end of it and password.
6. Click Connect.

Android

  1. Open the Settings app.
  2. Tap Connections.
  3. Tap Wi-Fi.
  4. Tap the eduroam and select Advanced Settings.
  5. Enter the settings from the example below.​​​​ 

Kindle

  1. From the home screen, swipe down to open the Quick Actions or select the Menu icon.
  2. Select All Settings or Settings, then Wi-Fi & Bluetooth or Wireless.
  3. Select Wi-Fi Networks and detected Wi-Fi networks appear. (If your Wi-Fi network is configured to be hidden or broadcast is disabled, it will not be displayed in the list.)
  4. Tap on eduroam and enter the settings from the example below.
  5. Select Connect.

Android phones (higher than 5.1) require you to select a "CA Certificate".  You can select "Do not validate".
