What is it?
Google’s premier mid-sized generative AI model, optimized for complex reasoning, advanced coding, and deep research across multimodal inputs. It operates as a highly intelligent assistant capable of natively processing text, code, audio, video, and images simultaneously. All users have access to Gemini using their current University assigned account.
Gemini Pro provides additional features that are not included in the Education Plus licensing currently provided to faculty and staff. Please see this comparison for details on the differences.
Who Can Use It?
Staff and faculty who need more robust query options and features beyond what is offered with their current Education Plus license are able to request a Gemini Pro license to be added to their Google Workspace account. To request a license, please choose the "Request Gemini Pro License." You will be asked to present a use case.
Use of Gemini Pro will be audited biannually and access will be removed if the tools are not being used. You can always request a license again should your needs change in the future.
Where Can I Access This Service
Gemini can be accessed through https://gemini.google.com/ or through Google Workspace via the side panel shortuct below. Gemini functions across core apps like Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Drive, and Slides.
