Exit Counseling Requirement

What is it?

Prior to graduation or upon withdrawal from the University, student borrowers will be provided with Direct Lending Subsidized/Unsubsidized Exit Counseling information. The counseling is provided to prepare the student loan borrower for repayment. Information provided will include repayment options, deferment options, loan consolidation, consequences of default, and communication with the lender and/or loan services.

Who can use it?

If you have received a subsidized, unsubsidized or PLUS loan under the Direct Loan Program or the FFEL Program, you must complete exit counseling each time you:

  • Drop below half-time enrollment

  • Graduate

  • Leave school

Where can I access this service?

Student borrowers can complete exit counseling through the Complete Exit Counseling button. The University will receive a notification once you complete your exit counseling.
