Outside Scholarship

What is it?

In addition to the financial aid available to students from the federal government, the state and University, additional resources can be found through various organizations, religious groups.

Who can use it?

Students who apply for an qualify for outside scholarships should send a copy of the award notification received to the Financial Aid Office via mail or the Service Request button to the right so we can ensure the funds are appropriately credited to the student’s account, and, that no revision to existing financial aid is required.   The Financial Aid Office makes every effort to simply add the existing outside scholarship to students’ financial aid packages; however, it should be noted that the total amount of a student’s financial aid package cannot exceed SJU’s cost of attendance and SJU merit scholarships and Regis Grants can only be used toward tuition costs.

Where can I access this service?

Students can research outside scholarship opportunities through their high school guidance office and through various free scholarship search sites, such as:  www.fastweb.com, www.scholarships.com, www.zinch.com, www.bigfuture.org.  Current SJU students can also access the Financial Aid Office’s outside scholarship database for undergraduate students or the  outside scholarship database for graduate students.
