Federal Work Study (FWS) Question

What is it?

Federal Work Study (FWS) provides part-time jobs for students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the recipient's course of study. Students are paid every two weeks for hours worked.

Who can use it?

Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to become eligible for work-study. Participants must demonstrate financial need to qualify for this program.  FWS funds are limited so may be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Where can I access this service?

Federal Work Study will be listed on the Financial Aid Award Letter for eligible students. Students who accept FWS will be contacted approximately three weeks before the academic year begins with more information on available positions and how to apply.
