What is Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub?
Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub is an officially supported application, deployed by Saint Joseph's University Office of Information Technology.
Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub is deployed as part of our ongoing desktop security initiatives to allow OIT to more effectively and securely manage macOS, iOS, and Windows devices.
If you have Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub installed on your Mac, you won't see it by default in your menubar or dock. You will find a shortcut in your Applications folder:
Once launched, you'll see it appear in your Dock, too.
If you have Workspace ONE Intelligent Hub installed on your Windows PC, it will appear as a small purple icon in your system tray:

Intelligent Hub App Catalog
SJU has opted to not use the App Catalog to allow users to perform on-demand installations of supported software. For example, if you were to open the Intelligent Hub, you'd see something similar to this:
Windows users can utilize the Intelligent Hub app catalog to install apps (when applicable).
Mac users will continue to use Managed Software Center.
Mandatory Application Installs
From time to time, SJU may need to enforce an update to be installed for an application that exists on your SJU-issued device. A few examples are of mandatory/managed software that may require updates are:
- Threatdown Endpoint Detection & Response (antivirus/antimalware solution)
- Zoom Workplace
- Crashplan (data backup solution)
If any any point SJU does require a new version to be installed due to some type of security vulnerability, you will receive several notifications such as these examples below:
For Windows:
If you've chosen to defer an installation of a required update, you will see a message in your Notification Center like this:
(The Notification Center can be accessed by clicking on the clock/calendar in the lower, right-hand corner of your taskbar)
Note:
- If you are away from your computer, or if it is asleep, or if it is powered off at the time a mandatory update is deployed, you will automatically have the installation deferred. You will see the pending update in the Notification Center (as described above), where you can choose to perform the installation immediately, or defer once again.
- You will see a message like the one shown below if the installation has been deferred:
Once the installation has completed, the notification will change to this:
For macOS:
You will receive a notification similar to this:
