Error: HawkPrint is prompting for a driver update (Windows)

This is a Windows-specific problem.

Problem: When printing to the HawkPrint queue, Windows prompts to install a driver update, which then fails.

Resolution:

  1. Make sure your computer is connected to the hardwired network (ethernet) on campus. This will not work on wifi.
  2. Open the "Run" dialog. (Windows key + R)
  3. Type in:
    gpupdate /force
(There is a space between "gpupdate" and "/force")
  4. Press "OK". A window will pop up saying it's updating your computer's Group Policy. The HawkPrint queue will reinstall, which may take a few minutes.
