OneDrive to Google Drive Migration (Using personal computer/Non-VDI)

Migrating OneDrive to GoogleDrive using the download option (Personal computer/Non-VDI)

This article will explain how to migrate your PA College OneDrive data to SJU's Google Workspace. Once you have performed this migration, you should discontinue use of OneDrive for storage. If you continue saving files to OneDrive, you will need to be sure to migrate them again.

Note: if you are using the view horizon desktop pools, please follow the steps in a different article 

Steps

  1. Sign into OneDrive: Visit onedrive.com in your browser. Log in with your Legacy PA College credentials.
  2. Choose Files:
    1. On the left side, click on "my files". Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    2. Click on the select all option to select all your files or you can check which files you would like to download. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    3. Do no select OneNote documents as the download button will not appear.Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
  3. Download: After selecting your files, a count of the number of items selected will appear. Select the "Download" option from the menu to save the files to your computer.

  4. Go to Google Drive: Open Google Drive in a new tab or window. Use your SJU credentials to log in.
  5. Upload: Look for the "+New" button in Google Drive. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    Choose "file upload" or "folder upload" from that list, select the files you downloaded from OneDrive on your computer and add them into Google Drive. Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)
    Downloaded files should default to the "Downloads" folder (Mac or Windows)
