Changes for ACD Users

What is changing?

Calls to your main departmental number will now ring on all the team member’s devices simultaneously through the new Elevate softphone app (smartphone or laptop). The Elevate app will effectively replace your office handset during Remote July.  You must be logged into the app to receive departmental calls or other calls to your campus phone.

Unanswered ACD/Departmental calls, will land in a voice mailbox and messages will be emailed to your group as they are now. Once we route calls to the new softphone service, calls will not ring on your campus telephone sets. As a consequence, GNAV (if you use that) will not display any useful information. After July we will route calls back to your campus phones and restore ACD and GNAV functionality.

Steps to Receive Calls

1. Login to the app., using your full SJU email address and your Elevate account password. Please note: Elevate is not connected to SJU's single sign on.

3. Click on the status to open the dropdown menu, and set your status to Available to receive calls. Any status other than Available will prevent you from receiving calls.

4. Call group users will experience two different calling behaviors based on whether the call is coming individually or coming through the calling group.

  • Individual calls: When receiving a call to your personal line you may answer directly by accepting the call.
  • Call Group: When receiving a call routed to your softphone line from the calling group, you will need to click to answer the call and then you will hear a message prompt, "Press 1 to answer this call."  The call will not be connected until you press 1.
