Blocked Access to Site

What is it?

SJU Lancaster utilizes a web filter in order to promote acceptable and responsible use of SJU information technology resources as well as protect its users from unknown and possibly malicious webpages.

There are times where an accessed webpage may be blocked by our web filter.

The webpage may be blocked for various reasons including but not limited to:

  • The URL is considered a “New Domain”, meaning that the website has not existed long enough and/or not had enough traffic to it to make a meaningful evaluation. The webpage is blocked by default for security reasons.
  • The category associated to the webpage being accessed is a category deemed inappropriate by SJU
  • The webpage is known to be malicious and is blocked for the security of the user.

You may request that a webpage that is currently being blocked be submitted for “Re-evaluation” and potentially unblocked.

Who can use it?

Faculty, staff, and students on our Lancaster location
