Overview

This article contains both approved and unauthorized AI tools that have been evaluated by SJU. As tools are reviewed and approved, they will be added to the list.

Enterprise Approved AI Tools

SJU has evaluated and approved AI features associated with tools that faculty and staff already use every day to support the expanding adoption of AI at our University. Please refer to the Parameters for Using AI for additional guidance on acceptable use.

  • NotebookLM: Google's AI-powered research and note-taking assistant.
  • Gemini for Google Workspace: Gemini is available directly within Google Workspace applications such as Docs, Forms, Slides and Vids. Please be aware that the full Gemini application accessible at gemini.google.com is not currently enabled for our institution.
    • A pilot program for Gemini Pro (gemini.google.com) will begin at the end of May, with planning underway for a larger rollout upon successful completion.

  • Zoom AI Companion: An AI-based digital assistant that delivers real-time capabilities, functionality, and assistance to help users improve their productivity and user experience when using Zoom

Tools Not Approved

The product list below is not exhaustive. These tools should not be used to conduct university business. Free or personal subscriptions to AI tools often require an End User License Agreement (EULA) and Terms of Use (ToU) that do not adequately protect you or University data.
