Dear Google Workspace Sync for Microsoft Outlook® user,
Your local mailbox is now full. You'll continue to receive new mail, but to see older messages you'll need to sign in to your Gmail account in a web browser. To store more mail locally, you can increase your local mailbox size. Just click the Google Workspace Sync icon in the Windows system tray and choose "Set mailbox size limit..." Steps
The GWSMO (Google Workspace Sync for Microsoft Outlook) application can help you change Outlook's mailbox size.
- Click GWSMO in your Microsoft Windows taskbar notification area.
- The GWSMO icon appears in the notification area in the bottom-right of your screen, typically next to the clock. This area has been known historically as the system tray. From here, you can open the GWSMO settings.
- If you cannot find the icon, it might be automatically hidden within the overflow area. To view all icons, click the up arrow in the system tray near the clock.
- Note: The icon only appears if GWSMO is running.
- Choose Set mailbox size limit.
- Select a mailbox size from the dialog that opens. Your size options are 1 GB, 2 GB, 4 GB, or Unlimited. For most users, "Unlimited" is fine. Users with an exceptionally large number of emails may experience performance degradation within Outlook, in which case it is recommend to choose a smaller mailbox size. Older emails would not be sync'd to the computer, but would still be available at gmail.com
