Overview
A year after graduating, student's SJU Gmail accounts will be terminated. Email can be archived onto a personal laptop or desktop computer via Outlook or Mac Mail, forward emails or imported into a personal Gmail account.
Steps
Here are the directions to import SJU email into a personal Gmail account:
- Make sure the Allow Less Secure Apps is ON.
- Go back to Student Gmail
- Click Settings (Cog Wheel top right) and click Settings
- Click "Forwarding and POP/IMAP"
- Under POP Download: Click "Enable POP for all mail (even mail that's already been downloaded)" and Click Save Changes on the bottom
**Make sure the is says Status: POP is enabled
- Go to you personal email
- Click Settings (Cog in the top right) and Settings
- Go to "Accounts and Imports"
- Click "Import mail and contacts"
- A pop up window will prompt you to type in your account to import from. Type in your sju email: name@sju.edu
- Type in similar to the picture below:
- Check "Import Mail" and "Add label to all imported mail: name@sju.edu" and Click Start Import
