Student Grades

Export  (Download) your Gradebook

You can download a .csv file of student grades from your gradebook. This file can be viewed in Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel. This file will contain grades for all your graded Canvas assignments, including Quizzes and Graded Discussions

There will be a lot of columns, but the most important ones are the Current Score and Current Points

  • Current Points is your Canvas Gradebook Total column in Points

  • Current Score is your Canvas Gradebook Total column represented as a Percentage

Download Student Submissions Per Assignment

If students have submitted to Assignments via the File Upload Option, you can download all student submission files per Assignment.

Download Individual Quiz Responses

If you need to reference individual student responses to specific quiz questions, you can use the Quiz Statistics tool. With the tool, you can generate and download a student analysis report from the Reports tab.

Exporting Course Content

If you need to download course content that you have uploaded to your course in Canvas you can do that through the Files section of your course.

Non-exportable student data

The following student assets cannot be downloaded:

  • Discussion Posts

  • Non-File Upload Assignments

  • Conversation Messages

  • Instructor/Student Comments
