Qualtrics Research Suite

 

What is it?

Qualtrics Research Suite is a powerful survey tool that is highly customizable and easy to use. With Qualtrics, you can design and distribute surveys, manage the responses, track the participants, and analyze the data, all in an easy-to-navigate, web-based interface. 

Qualtrics can be used for everything from simple program evaluations or satisfaction surveys to complex academic research. The service includes libraries of questions to get you started, and you can fully customize the look and feel of any survey. Survey results can be analyzed within the web interface or quickly be exported in a number of formats, and the software makes it easy to collaborate with others.

Who can use it?

Qualtrics is available at no cost to all SJU faculty, staff, and students.  Collaborate with other Qualtrics users to work together on a survey.

Access the Qualtrics Research Suite login at sju.qualtrics.com using your SJU credentials.  

Training

To access training materials for Qualtrics, go to support.qualtrics.com for a 5-step online training program as well as pre-recorded training videos. You can also find documentation, FAQs, and other resources throughout the site.

Requesting Assistance

Qualtrics Support is available by phone (800-340-9194) or email (support@qualtrics.com) during their business hours (24 hour support Sunday 5:00 pm to Friday 8:00 pm and Saturday 11:00 am to 7:00 pm EST), and self-service options for frequently asked questions and training tutorials are available on-demand at any time on the Qualtrics website.

Users who currently have a SJU Qualtrics account and need support related to account configuration issues (e.g., difficulty with accessing an existing account) should contact the Office of Information Technology using the green "Request Support" button to the right.

Additional Information

In order to fully utilize the Qualtrics system, users will need to be on a computer (desktop or laptop). Limited functionality can be accessed through mobile devices.

Policies & Guidelines

Any use of Qualtrics for purposes of institutional analysis, including enrollment, instructional workload, faculty positions and other institutional policies must follow standard university policies and practices (see links below).

Use of Qualtrics for research, general administration, and other purposes is delegated to faculty, staff, and students within the constraints of SJU policies and federal and state laws and regulations. 

Qualtrics for Research with Human Subjects

Qualtrics is the SJU Institutional Review Board's (IRB) preferred application for use when designing web-based surveys.  Maintaining the security of the subjects' data is of paramount importance to the SJU IRB.  The Office of Information Technology has determined the Qualtrics meets the University Data Security Standards.  The use of other web-based survey applications may be approved by the SJU IRB, ​ but only when the researcher is able to provide sufficient information to allow for review and an IRB determination that data security standards are met
