Canvas can be set to automatically drop grades. For example, if there are five quizzes during a semester but the lowest score is not counted.
- From the course in Canvas, go to the "Assignments" tool in the left-hand course menu.
- Make sure the Assignments are put into assignment groups.
- From the assignment group, click the three dots on the right-hand side, then click "Edit."
- In the pop-up window, set the "Number of scores to ignore for each student."
- For the example of dropping the lowest quiz grade, switch "Lowest Scores" from zero to one.
- Click "Save."
