SJU's supported email and collaboration suite is Google Workspace. All SJU employees and students are provided with a Google account. Google Workspace applications include: Gmail, Google Calendar, Docs, Sheets, and Sites. All accounts will need to set up Multi-Factor Authentication.
Your SJU account will also give you access to The Nest (SJU's information portal), Canvas, etc.
When will my SJU account be created?
Accounts for Lancaster employees joining SJU were created on November 14, 2023 in order to support onboarding and open enrollment activities.
Student accounts were created on January 29. Information has been communicated to faculty, staff, and students.
How do I access my SJU account and what will I have access to?
You can access your SJU Google account by going to google.sju.edu and logging in with your SJU credentials. This will give you access to your entire Google Workspace. You can also access your email through The Nest, SJU's portal.
*SJU has a license for all Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Will my PA College email be migrated?
Starting on January 3, the project team will begin copying over data from your current email account to your new SJU Google account. This will happen in the background and you can continue using your SJU email account.
OIT will migrate your email dating back to August 1, 2023 in order to bring over the entire Fall semester. As we migrate your email from the PA College account to your new SJU Google email account, please do not make changes to your PA college email. The entire migration process may take up to two weeks so your PA College email at that time should only be used as a reference.
OIT will also migrate your contacts into your new Google account.
Will my data from OneDrive be migrated?
You will need to move data you wish to save to your Google Drive. You can begin to migrate your OneDrive data to your SJU Google Drive. Once you have performed the data migration, you should stop working in the OneDrive environment and only use SJU Google.
What will I need to recreate in my SJU account?
Will I be able to access my PA College email/account after Jan. 3, 2024?
On January 3, we will begin forwarding any email sent to your PA College address to your new SJU Google email account. Your PA College email will still be available in order to refer to your email history. You will continue using your PA College credentials. Additional information on timing to retire that will be communicated as we have more information.
Some services will still require your PA College credentials. Over the spring and summer we will continue to migrate all services to the SJU environment. We will communicate those changes as they come.
