On Monday, August 19, 2019, the New Gradebook will be activated in Canvas. The New Gradebook offers a number of enhanced features including a better user experience addressing user-suggested improvements, more flexible and intuitive grading, and improved accessibility support.
An instructor can arrange to have papers submitted to the Canvas Assignments tool checked, by Turnitin, for potential unoriginal content by comparing submitted papers to several databases using a proprietary algorithm.  

Turnitin scans the Internet, its own databases, and also has licensing agreements with large academic proprietary databases. Instructors receive (in the Canvas Assignments tool) an “Originality Report” from Turnitin for each student submission.

When this tool is added to a Canvas course, instructors and their students can use Pearson's interactive instructional materials, including homework, quizzes, and multimedia tutorials.
